Translation Analytics gives you a complete, at-a-glance picture of your site’s translation progress, team productivity, and content coverage. Instead of manually counting translated versus untranslated posts by filtering through post lists, the Analytics dashboard presents everything visually — progress bars, percentages, word counts, team rankings, and activity timelines — so you can make informed decisions about where to focus your translation effort and budget.

For content managers overseeing multilingual sites with multiple languages and multiple translators, Analytics is an essential management tool. It answers questions like: “Which language is furthest behind?”, “How many words still need translating?”, “Which translator is most productive?”, and “Are we translating faster or slower than last month?”

What the Analytics dashboard shows

Go to Lang Forge > Analytics to access the dashboard. It is organized into several sections, each providing a different perspective on your translation work.

Step-by-step: Using the Analytics dashboard for weekly planning

  1. Go to Lang Forge > Analytics in your WordPress admin
  2. Start with the Translation Progress by Language chart at the top. Each active language has a horizontal progress bar divided into three segments:
Green = published translations (live and visible to visitors)

Yellow = draft translations (in progress, not yet published)

Gray = untranslated content (no translation exists)

Next to each bar, exact numbers are displayed: “Spanish: 142 of 200 posts translated (71%)”

  1. Identify which language has the lowest percentage. This is where you should focus your team’s effort this week
  2. Scroll down to the Progress by Content Type table. This shows a breakdown by post type:

  1. Use this table to prioritize within a language. For example, German Pages are at 60% while German Products are at 40% — if products drive revenue, prioritize translating products
  2. Check the Word and Character Counts panel to estimate remaining work. If German has 45,000 untranslated words and your translator handles 3,000 words per day, that is about 15 working days of effort
  3. If you work with multiple translators, review the Top Translators section. It ranks team members by:
– Number of posts translated

– Number of words translated

– Number of strings translated

– Activity over the last 7, 30, and 90 days

  1. Review the Translation Activity Timeline chart showing daily or weekly translation activity. Look for trends — is your team’s output increasing, stable, or declining? Are there periods of inactivity that correspond to holidays or project freezes?
  2. To share this data with stakeholders or include it in project reports, click Export Report to download everything as a CSV file

Real-world example: Preparing a quarterly translation report

A digital agency manages a client’s website in four languages. At the end of each quarter, they prepare a progress report. The project manager opens Translation Analytics, notes that Spanish is at 95% (nearly complete), French is at 78% (on track), German is at 45% (behind schedule), and Japanese is at 30% (just started). She exports the report, includes it in her client presentation, and recommends allocating more translator hours to German. The word count data helps her estimate the budget: 32,000 untranslated German words at the agency’s rate of $0.12 per word equals approximately $3,840 to complete.

What happens on the Free plan

Translation Analytics is not available on the Free plan. The Analytics menu item is not visible, and there is no centralized progress tracking. You can still see how many posts exist per language by using the post list language filters, but there is no dashboard, no team metrics, and no activity timeline.

> Tip: Check the Analytics dashboard at the start of each week to set priorities. Focus on the languages and content types with the lowest completion percentages, and assign your translators accordingly.

> Good to know: Analytics data updates in real time. Every time a translation is published, marked as current, or deleted, the progress bars, percentages, and counts are recalculated immediately. You always see the current state of your site.
